Volunteer Opportunities

💡 Curious about other ways to support us? Check out our Get Involved page for more opportunities beyond volunteering.

💡Want to learn more about our work and mission? Visit our What We’re Doing and About pages to explore our current projects, goals, and the heart behind Not Defined By FND.

At Not Defined By FND, volunteers are the heart of our mission. As a newly founded nonprofit, we’re dedicated to ending stigma, raising awareness, advocating for research and treatments, and fostering conversations around Functional Neurological Disorder (FND). None of this would be possible without the dedication and passion of people like you.

Whether you're a student seeking hands-on experience, a recent graduate looking to apply your skills, or someone who simply wants to make a difference — we’re grateful you’re here.

Most of our roles are remote, flexible, and project-based — designed to fit your schedule while giving you meaningful ways to contribute. From writing articles to analyzing survey data, every project completed is a step toward a more informed and supportive world for the FND community.

Below you’ll find our current volunteer opportunities and how to get involved. Let’s build something impactful together.

Why Volunteer With Us?

Volunteering at Not Defined By FND gives you the chance to:

  • Make a difference in the rare and often misunderstood FND community

  • Apply and develop real-world skills

  • Build your resume or portfolio

  • Collaborate with a passionate, grassroots team

  • Support public health, disability rights, and medical advocacy

Most of our roles are remote and flexible, making it easy to volunteer on your schedule. Our team is small (we're a brand new nonprofit, founded in April 2024!), but we're full of heart — and we'd love to welcome you aboard!

We welcome students, recent grads, and anyone with a heart for advocacy. Many roles are perfect for those pursuing psychology, public health, neuroscience, social work, nonprofit studies, or communications.
