🔍 1. A New Article Joins the FND Detective Series!

Our latest installment dives into one of the most important questions in FND research: What exactly is happening in the brain when FND symptoms arise?

In this new article, Functional Neurological Disorder as a Disorder of Network Integration and Predictive Inference, Olivia Taylor explores a powerful and modern framework for understanding FND—one that moves far beyond outdated explanations and instead centers on brain networks, predictive processing, and the science of agency and movement.

You’ll learn how:

• The salience network can become overprotective and inward-focused

• The supplementary motor area struggles to translate intention into movement

• The temporoparietal junction (TPJ) shapes our sense of “I did that”—and what happens when those signals get noisy

• The frontoparietal control system influences how we interpret bodily sensations

• And how all these networks interact dynamically to create (and resolve) FND symptoms

We are excited to announce that our FND brochure is now published in Tamil—bringing the total number of languages to SEVEN! 🎉 This is a huge milestone in our commitment to make high-quality, stigma-reducing FND resources available to communities worldwide.

This expansion is possible thanks to generous volunteer translators and the passion of community members who want to ensure no one with FND feels alone or misunderstood because of language barriers.
