What if just one minute could change how the world understands Functional Neurological Disorder (FND)?

That’s the idea behind FND In Focus, the first-ever video competition dedicated entirely to FND (that we're aware of, anyway), hosted by Not Defined By FND, a nonprofit organization committed to advancing awareness, education, and empowerment within the FND community.

This is more than a contest. It’s a platform for voices that deserve to be heard.

Why We Created FND In Focus

Functional Neurological Disorder is widely misunderstood. Too often, people living with FND face stigma, disbelief, and a lack of accurate information. At Not Defined By FND, we believe that stories have the power to educate, humanize, and inspire change.

That’s why we created FND In Focus — to bring together creators, students, advocates, and storytellers from across the United States and invite them to use visual storytelling to help the world better understand FND.

Whether you live with FND, support someone who does, or simply want to use your creativity for a meaningful cause, this competition was designed with you in mind.

What Is FND In Focus?

FND In Focus is a short-form video competition where participants will be invited to create impactful videos that are 60 seconds or less, centered around a unique annual theme.

Each year, the competition will challenge creators to explore FND through a creative lens — raising awareness, sharing lived experiences, challenging misconceptions, and encouraging empathy.

Two Ways to Win

There will be two award categories, giving creators multiple ways to be recognized:

🏆 Judge’s Choice Award (Not Defined By FND Award): Selected by a diverse panel of independent judges, including FND warriors, supporters, advocates, medical professionals, tech professionals, and creatives. All submissions will be evaluated using an official judging rubric.

❤️ People’s Choice Award: Chosen through community voting — giving the public a chance to help spotlight the videos that resonate most.

When Does It Launch?

📌 Theme Reveal: FND Awareness Day (April 13, 2026)

📌 Video Submissions Open: November 1, 2026
