What
Hosted by Not Defined By FND, a nonprofit public charity, who is on a mission to raise awareness, advocate for research, treatments, and resources, and initiate conversations that inspire necessary changes in communities worldwide for the FND (functional neurological disorder) community.
We are thrilled to host our highly anticipated annual event, dedicated to raising awareness and funds for our cause. Join us for an exciting day filled with exciting activities, including an obstacle course with a twist, games, food and drinks, and much more!
When
Each year, we come together around International FND Awareness Day (April 13) to lift up voices, build community, and raise awareness. Our 2026 event is in the works—check back soon for the date. We can’t wait to celebrate with you!
Where
Our next FND Awareness Event will be held in Wilmington, NC—and we’re bringing the fun online too! Join us via livestream and take part in interactive activities designed for both in-person and virtual attendees.

Why
The main goal of this event is to increase awareness for and knowledge of FND and raise funds, all while engaging with our community, both in person and online. Ready for a challenge? Our Walk a Mile in Their Shoes obstacle course invites you to step into the world of FND and experience the daily struggles FND warriors face in a fun, interactive way!
Think you’ve got what it takes to navigate life with FND? Step into the shoes of an FND warrior in this eye-opening, hands-on obstacle course designed to mimic real FND symptoms in a fun and engaging way!
💪 Try getting dressed using only one arm and one leg—a challenge that simulates limb weakness and paralysis.
👓 Struggle through vision-distorting goggles, making even the simplest tasks tricky!
⚖️ Test your balance and coordination with obstacles that challenge your motor skills.
Race against the clock—the top 3 fastest times win a prize! 🏆 Winners will be announced at the end of the event.
It’s a fun, interactive way to build awareness, foster empathy, and challenge yourself! Are you up for it?

Our Silent Auction is one of the most exciting parts of our Annual FND Awareness Event, featuring a variety of unique items and experiences you won't find anywhere else! Highlighting the incredible creativity of FND warriors and supporters, you’ll find one-of-a-kind arts and crafts, created and donated by FND warriors & supporters, along with exclusive gift baskets, gift cards, and more—something for everyone!
